Welcome to Silver Scripts
On this site you'll find a wealth of lively, fast-moving scripts for amateur groups of all sizes, primary schools and senior schools. All the plays were written by Sylvia Silver for the wonderful actors - adults and schoolchildren - who have worked with her over the years.
The full length plays at present consist of The Pied Piper and A Christmas Carol. Both stories are famous and timeless, great entertainment and can absorb a large number of extras who want to experience the fun of being in a large show.
There are some delightfully funny short plays for children that are simple to stage but can also incorporate lots of interesting sound, music, dance and costumes if you have the inclination. Perfect for school groups and junior youth theatres, they include St George and the Dragon, Princess Petunia and the Globe of Fire and A Right Royal Rumpus.
Most of the sketches were written for Cabaret evenings and can be 'personalised' easily by adding and changing names to give a local feel. 'The Lord Chamberlain's Men on Tour' was written as a Prologue to a performance of 'The Taming of the Shrew', however, you could use it as a prologue for any of Shakespeare's comedies should you wish.
If you're interested in any of these plays you can read an extract online before buying the script. Take a look around and please feel free to contact us for further information.
